Maintenance Technician – Steel Processing Equipment
Location: Madison Heights (14 Mile and Stephens)
Job Type: Full-Time | Pay: $20.00 – $28.70 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our steel processing operations through equipment repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. This is a hands-on, full-time position requiring physical stamina and strong mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and steel processing equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Work with cranes, forklifts, draw machines, annealing furnaces, and gas generators
Conduct welding, fabrication, and installation tasks as needed
Perform diesel and forklift maintenance and repair
Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities
Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance or mechanic experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Experience with industrial equipment (cranes, forklifts, furnaces, etc.)
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
Must be able to stand, walk, and lift throughout the shift
Willingness to work 3rd shift (10pm–6am) after training on 1st shift (6am–2pm)
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly wage: $20.00–$28.00/hour, based on experience
$0.50 raises every 90 days up to $28.70

Schedule:
Training: 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
Permanent: 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Must be available for periodic 10-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
