Industrial Maintenance Technician II

**Summary

**

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and continuous improvement of machinery and mechanical equipment within a manufacturing or industrial facility. This role ensures minimal downtime and optimal performance of production systems through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

**Essential Functions

**

1. Walk the process with care and observation, engage with the operators on the operating status of process equipment and safety devices to ensure they are supported for success.
2. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
3. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and perform necessary repairs.
4. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and HVAC systems.
5. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
6. Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
7. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance logs, and parts inventory using the Limble software.
8. Install new machinery and assist with plant upgrades or modifications.
9. Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
10. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
11. Assist with emergency maintenance needs during off-hours when necessary.

1. Must be able to document changes to blueprints, drawings, and sketches.

2. Must be able to help design equipment changes.

4. Must keep all environmental and equipment records accurate and up to date.**Skills

   **

   1. Strong Focus on safety and safety programs such as CSE, LOTO etc.
   2. Ensure all EH&S compliance obligations are completed monthly/quarterly/yearly
   3. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong team player, independent worker requiring minimal day-to-day direction or oversight.
   4. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems.
   5. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and PLC systems.
   6. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
   7. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
   8. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding is a plus.
   9. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
   10. Good communication and teamwork skills

   **Education and Experience

   1. Understands and embraces industrial safety programs.
   2. +2 years of experience in equipment maintenance role is preferred.
   3. Willingness to obtain further education in the areas of mechanical & electrical systems, troubleshooting and project management.

   **Work Environment

   **

   Must be able to work at heights up to 50 feet (including scissor lifts and boom lifts) and be comfortable working in confined spaces. Must have the ability to prepare for and work in any outside weather conditions. For example: hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.

   **Medically qualified to wear respirator. **

   Physical: Sitting, carrying, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing, climbing (ladders of various height), maximum lifting of 100 lbs., with frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.

   Aptitudes: Must possess the ability to understand the meaning of words and their ideas, as well as instructions and their underlying principles. Perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately and possess eye-hand motor coordination.

   Temperaments: Must have the ability to accept responsibility, perform duties under stress, adapt to situations requiring preciseness, and adapt to changing duties and responsibilities. Must be able to adapt to situations involving the interpretation of feelings, ideas, or facts; be able to influence people in the opinions, attitudes, or judgements, and be able to generalize, evaluate, make decisions, and perform repetitive work.
