Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment adjustments, installations, and special projects that support Farmer Focus’s production and business operations. This role helps ensure machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably within the poultry processing environment.
The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays an important role in reducing downtime, maintaining equipment performance, supporting production continuity, and helping create a safe, clean, and well-maintained work environment. This position requires strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to support smooth business and production operations.
Repair, install, adjust, and maintain machinery and equipment throughout the processing plant.
Perform parts replacement, routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and special projects as assigned.
Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
Examine parts for defects, including breakage, excessive wear, or other signs of malfunction.
Repair or replace broken, defective, or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
Reassemble equipment following inspections, testing, maintenance, or repairs.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Perform work in all departments of the processing plant environment, including areas with cold, damp, wet, or changing conditions.
Provide a means of notification and communication during non-working hours for emergency maintenance needs.
Respond to emergency call-ins within 30 minutes as .
Ensure the shop and surrounding areas are kept clean by removing debris from work areas, work benches, and break rooms.
Support a safe work environment by identifying and eliminating unsafe acts or conditions.
Apply maintenance skills in cutting and welding, hydraulics, filter systems, pipe fitting/plumbing, shop equipment operation, sheet metal fabrication, pneumatics, electrical wiring, and motors.
Organize tasks to be performed and, when needed, monitor or oversee the quality of work being completed.
Perform other responsibilities as needed to support Farmer Focus business objectives.
Compensation
Compensation Range: $24.00 - $43.75 an hour
Additional Compensation: Potential for incentive-based compensation. 2nd shift will receive hourly shift differential.
The posted compensation range for this role should reflect the minimum and maximum amount Farmer Focus in good faith expects to pay at the time of posting, based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, market data, and the budgeted amount available for the position.

Qualifications
Proven industrial, manufacturing maintenance, or electrical experience .
Knowledge and understanding of good safety practices.
Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
Proficiency in using common hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Ability to perform maintenance tasks involving machinery, equipment, parts, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, pipe fitting, welding, cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and shop equipment.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Basic math skills.
Ability to organize tasks and, when needed, monitor or oversee the quality of work being performed.
Ability to work with or near animal blood.
Ability to work in all departments of the poultry processing environment, including cold, damp, wet, and changing conditions.
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to respond to emergency call-ins within 30 minutes as .

Preferred Qualifications
Prior maintenance experience in a food processing, poultry processing, manufacturing, or production environment.
Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
Experience troubleshooting electrical wiring, motors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and production equipment.
Experience supporting emergency maintenance needs in a fast-paced production environment.
New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Work is conducted primarily in a manufacturing and poultry production environment. This role requires access to the production environment and may require work in all departments of the processing plant. The team member must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, damp, and chill conditions within the plant. Hearing and eye protective equipment are in the production area. Hair and beard nets are in the production area. Additional personal protective equipment may be based on task, location, and safety requirements. This position may require the use of hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, electrical and electronic testing devices, welding and cutting equipment, shop equipment, and other maintenance-related tools. The role may also require standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, lifting, working near machinery, and working with or near animal blood.
