Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Manchester, PA
Day or Night Shift available.
Picture your day in our Manchester, PA plant: you arrive to a clean, safety-focused facility, review the maintenance log, and prioritize a few preventive tasks before the first line starts. Mid-morning, you diagnose a hydraulic leak, swap a worn seal, and bring the machine back online to keep production moving. By afternoon, you’re assisting Engineering with a VFD upgrade and documenting your work so the team’s history stays sharp. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and your expertise directly keeps our operation running smoothly.
What You’ll Tackle
- Own preventive maintenance: inspections, adjustments, repairs, and documentation that prevent unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot multi-discipline issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns and emergency calls to restore equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain precise records, work orders, and equipment histories.
- Assist with equipment installs, modifications, testing, and commissioning/startups.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality to boost reliability and performance.
- Contribute ideas to continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
- Support changeovers, plant shutdowns, and special projects.
- Keep work areas safe, orderly, and clean at all times.
- Follow all safety, food safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
What You’ll Bring
Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, food production, or similar settings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid troubleshooting ability.
- Working knowledge of: mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC.
- Ability to read and interpret: blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with hand/power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic instruments.
- Comfort working independently and within a team; organized and solution-oriented.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or vocational training in Maintenance, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology, or related fields.
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), robotics, and industrial controls.
- Skilled trade certifications (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Welding, etc.).
- Background in food manufacturing and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb throughout the shift.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
