JOB TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic II

POSITION SUMMARY: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as fillers, casers, pumps, conveyor systems, processors, and other production by performing the following duties.

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Chief Engineer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Supervise preventative maintenance tasks.
▪ Control maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment.
▪ Assist with record keeping and preventative and predictive maintenance program including input of the MP2 Data stream computerized maintenance management system.
▪ Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
▪ Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
▪ Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
▪ Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Knowledge of / Skill in:
Qualified candidates will have good oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with key co-workers, including department managers, line operators, quality assurance personnel and contractors.

▪ Company policies, standards, and specifications
▪ Safety policies and procedures for equipment operation
▪ Proficient use of a Volt-Ohm meter
▪ Start up operate and shut down non-contact printers.
▪ Diagnose and repair mechanical operations on fillers and packaging machines.
▪ Trouble shoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
▪ Proficient at T.I.G. welding including sanitary welding.
▪ Competent with arc and gas welding, brazing, and soldering.
▪ Proficient with the lathe, mill, drill press and grinders and other machine tools
▪ Diagnose and repair CIP systems.
▪ Diagnose and repair controls circuits, AC & DC.
▪ Diagnose and repair three phase motor control circuits.
▪ Competent with PLC logic, trouble shoot inputs and outputs.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
▪ High school education
▪ 3 - 5 years experience in manufacturing or equal experience in a related position required.
