About the Role

Picture your day: you arrive on site and take ownership of the plant’s mechanical heartbeat. You move from a pump room to the boiler house, then over to HVAC units, hydraulics, and pneumatics, ensuring each system runs smoothly. A production line stalls—you diagnose the issue, tear down an intricate mechanism, replace worn components, reassemble, and bring it back online. An alarm flags a controls fault—you dig into PLCs, electrical controls, instrumentation, and VFDs to troubleshoot and resolve. In the afternoon, you knock out a roof leak repair and help a teammate with a gearbox adjustment before wrapping up.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and repair mechanical facilities and plant structures, including pumps, boilers, air, water, and reactor systems.
  • Use hand and power tools confidently to perform a wide range of mechanical and basic electrical tasks.
  • Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex machines and mechanisms.
  • Install, adjust, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electro-mechanical equipment, electrical controls, PLCs, instrumentation, and VFDs.
  • Perform building repairs on roofs, structures, and furniture as needed.
  • Assist other technicians and take on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical schooling/certifications a plus.
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime and weekends when required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic capability.
  • Hands-on proficiency (testing required) in: Arc, MIG, TIG, and Stick welding; PLCs; electrical; VFDs; HVAC; pumps; hydraulics; pneumatics; gearboxes.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50+ lbs.
  • Physical ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, and kneel.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Clear, effective communication skills.
  • Able to complete pre-employment screenings (background, drug, physical).
