Summary of Job

The Industrial Maintenance Electrician Technician is responsible for supporting corrective maintenance (CM), preventive maintenance (PM), and Kaizen (continuous improvement) activities to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance. This role focuses on achieving production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.

The technician works efficiently and safely to reduce downtime and equipment failures by analyzing issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, supporting new equipment installations, and addressing equipment-related causes of downtime to maintain continuous and efficient operations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and ensure team members adhere to safety standards and procedure
  • Ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably to support production goal
  • Perform and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Participate in and support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machine failures in a timely manner
  • Maintain responsibility for all plant equipment and systems, including blending, packaging, and utilities
  • Develop and enhance machine operation and technical skills
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring or potential issues
  • Maintain equipment in optimal condition to ensure product quality and safety
  • Communication and report equipment abnormalities following maintenance fundamentals (5S, leaks, lubrication, routing, and re-tightening)
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, routines, and plant systems
  • Assist with installation, modification, and removal of equipment based on production needs
  • Perform basic facility maintenance, including plumbing, HVAC, air compressors, and general building upkeep
  • Provide technical support to Engineering and Production teams to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing performance
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare required reports
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/electrical or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Technical training or career background in Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machinery maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Electrician Maintenance or technical certification required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Bilingual with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl into confined or awkward spaces
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment with varying temperatures and noise levels

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Always Adhere to GMPS (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) guidelines to prevent contamination
