Industrial Maintenance Electrician-Mechanic
Engtal is hiring a hands-on, floor-based maintenance professional to keep a high-output coil coating operation in Fairland, IN running at peak performance. This role is 100% on the production floor in a heavy industrial environment and leans strongly on electrical troubleshooting while requiring solid mechanical skills.
A Night in This Role
As the plant comes alive for the night shift, you’ll move from line start-ups to tackling reactive issues, tuning equipment for reliability, and executing preventive tasks. You’ll diagnose 480V electrical problems, replace motors, trace controls, and keep conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and utilities humming. You’ll close the night by documenting work in the CMMS and lining up parts and plans for the next rotation.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical failures on production equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose electrical issues involving motors, controls, sensors, and industrial wiring
- Repair and maintain gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, chains, couplings, pumps, and rotating equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Maintain plant utilities including boilers, evaporators, wastewater treatment equipment, and compressed air systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Document completed work in the CMMS
- Follow OSHA safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
