What your day looks like
You start your shift (we have 1st and 2nd shift openings) with a quick review of work orders, then head to the floor to keep production running. A motor on a conveyor needs attention—you verify power on a 480V 3-phase circuit, trace the issue with your Multi-Volt Meter, and bring it back online. Next, you swap to a hydraulic press showing pressure variance, reading the schematic, checking pneumatics upstream, and dialing in the fix. Between calls, you perform preventive and predictive maintenance rounds and document your work clearly.
What you’ll handle
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install 120/208V, 277V, and 480V 3-phase electrical systems
- Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment issues in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting
- Interpret and work from drawings, schematics, and blueprints
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime
- Perform general building maintenance and industrial plumbing as needed
- Complete light welding and fabrication to support repairs and improvements
Tools and tech you’ll use
- Multi-Volt Meter and standard hand/power tools
- Variable Frequency Drives (troubleshooting experience preferred)
- PLC systems (troubleshooting experience preferred)
What you bring
- Industrial maintenance experience (required)
- Background in heavy industrial manufacturing and computer literacy (required)
- Strong written and verbal communication and solid organizational skills
- Ability to weld/fabricate and safely operate a wide range of tools
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Personal basic tools/tool box (required)
