The role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Industrial Maintenance and Reliability Manager ensures plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. You will plan and drive preventive maintenance, coordinate equipment repairs, lead new equipment installations, and oversee building-related modifications—delivering results through a high-performing maintenance team and smart use of resources.

A day in the life

  • Kick off with a production huddle to align maintenance priorities with current orders and the production scheduling department.
  • Review CMMS dashboards to confirm preventive maintenance tasks are scheduled and executed on time.
  • Walk the floor to verify equipment health, safety compliance, and progress on in-flight repairs.
  • Meet with vendors, evaluate bids, and approve work—then oversee execution and quality inspections.
  • Supervise a new machine installation, perform pre-start checks and inspections, and ensure documentation and records are complete.
  • Monitor departmental spend against budget and identify cost-control opportunities.
  • Tackle special projects that improve reliability, safety, and throughput.

What you'll own

  • Direction of the maintenance department to keep all plant assets maintained and repaired with minimal downtime.
  • Plant-wide preventive maintenance planning and on-time execution for every machine.
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment, including pre-use inspections and recordkeeping after start-up.
  • Coordination of maintenance schedules with production requirements alongside production managers and the production scheduling team.
  • Enforcement of all safety procedures and policies.
  • Vendor management: sourcing, competitive bidding, bid approval, supervision, and quality assurance of contracted work.
  • Departmental budgeting and cost control.
  • Completion of special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA preferred.
  • 10+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience (minimum).
  • Hands-on CMMS (or similar) experience.
  • Proven maintenance budget management.
  • ERP experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
