Job SummaryIndustrial Injury Prevention Specialists (IIPS) are healthcare professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide a proactive approach to the prevention and management of workplace injuries and illnesses. Services provided by an IIPS include prevention, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. IIPS work under the direction of physicians.ScheduleMonday to Friday, 4:00 pm – 12:00 am.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide triage, first‑aid, education, and/or escalation of care if needed.Facilitate ongoing communication with all parties involved in managing an injury case.Support the injured employee, monitor medical care, promote efficient reporting, and participate in accident investigations.Assist in finding temporarily modified work in compliance with physical restrictions.Help employees prevent repetitive, cumulative, and overuse musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses.Conduct ergonomic analyses to provide recommendations on vehicle set‑up, work posture, tool use, and workstation modifications.Provide on‑the‑job education and coaching to help workers maintain physical resilience through optimizing body mechanics and postural habits.Assist employees in achieving sustained lifestyle improvements in areas such as nutrition, physical fitness, and stress management.Address and mitigate risks related to workers' total health to reduce job‑related injury and illness risk.Develop job‑specific agility routines and programs for preventative work hardening.Minimize injury risk through awareness, education, ergonomic recommendations, and first aid.Proactively engage with employees at their work location.Maintain records of triage, ergonomic assessment, first‑aid care, and education provided.Gain full understanding of site operations and employee workflow to recommend prevention strategies.Leverage technology to support total worker health.Work in partnership with other WorkCare service lines (Incident Intervention, Onsite Clinics, etc.).Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).Must hold CPR/First Aid certification.Experience in orthopedics, wellness, industrial/occupational health, or ergonomics is a plus.Ergonomic certification preferred.NATABOC certification in good standing preferred.At least 3 years of relevant experience.Skills and CompetenciesMaintain privacy and confidentiality.Critical thinking skills required.Work independently and make decisions per company policy.Take initiative on daily issues.Manage multiple priorities.Maintain a professional approach in demanding, multitasking environments.Create and edit written materials.Communicate effectively to diverse audiences.Organize resources and establish priorities.Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Computer SkillsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn new software as needed.Physical DemandsSitting for long periods at a desk.Bending and stretching.Working under stress; use of computer and phone.Manual dexterity for computer keyboard usage.Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching frequently.Occasional lifting or moving up to 15 pounds.Work EnvironmentFrequent indoor office conditions.Frequent outdoor work conditions.Moderate noise levels.Good air quality and controlled indoor temperature.Compensation and BenefitsThis position has an hourly pay range of $37 – $44 per hour.
