About the Role:

The Industrial Housekeeping Manager plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. The manager will lead a team of housekeeping staff, coordinating schedules, training, and performance management to uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization. By implementing effective housekeeping strategies, the role directly contributes to minimizing workplace hazards, improving operational efficiency, and supporting overall production goals. The Industrial Housekeeping Manager acts as a key liaison between housekeeping, safety, and production teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and workplace excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial housekeeping or facility management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing teams and coordinating large-scale housekeeping operations.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance related to industrial housekeeping.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety data sheets (SDS), cleaning chemical labels, and facility blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., OSHA 30-hour or Certified Safety Professional).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to improve housekeeping processes.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or housekeeping management software.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction and green cleaning practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of fostering team engagement and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor housekeeping procedures and schedules to ensure all areas of the manufacturing facility are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support to promote productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address cleanliness issues, potential hazards, and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and safety teams to coordinate housekeeping activities that minimize disruption to manufacturing operations while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and timely availability.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on housekeeping activities, incidents, and improvements for senior management review.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing housekeeping efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.
