Our client, a Tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join their team at a new facility in Greenville, SC. This is a high-impact role, serving as a key link between engineering and production while driving process efficiency and continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to established engineering and operational standards
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for both new product introduction and ongoing production in collaboration with the engineering team
Support the sourcing and implementation of production equipment
Design and improve machine and plant layouts based on operational requirements and efficiency goals
Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives across the production environment
Contribute to improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) at the work-center level to meet performance targets
Coordinate and support modifications and upgrades to production equipment
Manage activities related to equipment relocation, disposal, resale, or decommissioning
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
3+ years of experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
Automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing experience preferred
Experience working cross-functionally with production, quality, and maintenance teams
Strong background in process optimization, line balancing, and Continuous Improvement (Lean, Kaizen, 5S)
Understanding of OEE, KPIs, and production performance metrics
Experience supporting pre-series and series production / new launches
Familiarity with plant layouts, material flow, and equipment implementation
SAP or ERP system experience preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
