Job Description Summary

As an Industrial Electrician at our new site in Pittsburgh, you will play a critical part in preventative and corrective maintenance on various types of commercial jet engine test cell equipment, in accordance with a total preventative maintenance (TPM) program. You should be comfortable reading prints, working on industrial electrical systems, supporting controls and instrumentation, and solving problems that directly impact uptime and reliability. Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Keep critical equipment energized and dependable

Perform preventive maintenance inspections on electrical systems, controls, and production equipment to identify issues before they lead to breakdowns.

  • Troubleshoot and repair with urgency

Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system problems, complete corrective repairs, and restore equipment to safe, reliable operation as quickly as possible.

  • Find the root cause, not just the symptom

Investigate equipment and system failures, analyze root causes, and recommend long-term corrective actions that improve reliability and reduce repeat issues.

  • Work with advanced industrial systems

Install, maintain, calibrate, and support analog and digital instrumentation, sensors, control panels, data acquisition equipment, and automated processing systems.

  • Drive reliability and continuous improvement

Document malfunctions, support failure investigations, and share insights that improve equipment performance, maintenance practices, and overall process efficiency.

  • Expand your technical expertise

Build your skills across electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines while working in a dynamic industrial environment.

  • Promote a strong safety culture

Support safety and environmental inspections, follow electrical safe work practices, and help ensure compliance with facility and regulatory requirements.

  • Flexibility to work weekend shifts as required by business needs.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed to support operational demands.
  • Open to future shift changes, including potential transition to second shift, based on business needs.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including regularly lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs; standing and walking for extended periods; climbing ladders and work stands; working at heights and in high-noise environments; and wearing required PPE, including hearing and eye protection and safety footwear.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field from an accredited school or institution OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of electrical experience in an industrial setting.

You'll Stand Out if You:

  • Have the ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, building drawings, and mechanical prints.
  • Experience working in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Experience with 480V 3-phase power, motor controls, contactors, relays, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems and PLC logic for troubleshooting automated equipment.
  • Experience with instrumentation, sensors, and industrial controls.
  • Experience maintaining industrial electrical systems, hoists, and lifting equipment controls.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E and electrical safe work practices.
  • Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, and personnel lifts.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems such as Maximo, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a self-directed team environment.
