Journeyman Electrician

Location: Rocky Mount, NC

Position Summary

Quality “Plus” Services (QPS) is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to support ongoing commercial and industrial projects in the Rocky Mount area. This role requires a strong working knowledge of electrical systems, the ability to work independently or as part of a crew, and a commitment to safety, productivity, and quality workmanship.

The Journeyman Electrician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems while supporting foremen and project leadership to meet schedule and performance expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, motors, and controls
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
  • Perform electrical terminations for panels, transformers, MCCs, and equipment
  • Bend and install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC)
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using meters and diagnostic tools
  • Follow NEC requirements and company safety standards at all times
  • Assist with layout and material planning
  • Work independently or lead apprentices/helpers as needed
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members
  • Support startup, testing, and commissioning activities when required


Required Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license (NC or reciprocal accepted)
  • Minimum 4–6 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
  • Strong understanding of NEC codes and jobsite safety practices
  • Experience with conduit bending and installation
  • Ability to read electrical prints and schematics
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Reliable transportation to job sites
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights, in lifts, or on ladders


Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial experience (plants, facilities, or manufacturing environments)
  • Experience with motor controls, VFDs, or PLC-related wiring
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Leadership experience guiding apprentices
