Industrial Design-Build Site Superintendent

You arrive before sunrise at a manufacturing project site, step into the trailer you helped set up, review today’s look-ahead schedule, and brief subcontractors on safety and quality expectations. By mid-morning you’re coordinating inspections and resolving a sequencing challenge that keeps the build on track. In the afternoon, you’re capturing field updates, confirming material deliveries, and preparing for tomorrow’s owner/architect coordination meeting. That’s a day in the life of our Industrial Design-Build Site Superintendent.

We’re a leading design-build general contractor delivering manufacturing facilities across Ohio and the U.S. We highly value industrial experience but also welcome seasoned commercial superintendents eager to step into industrial work.

Key Assignment

This position will lead a Mansfield, OH manufacturing project from Sept. 2026 through Nov. 2027.

Reporting Line

Reports to a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager.

What You Will Lead

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations to deliver a safe, on-schedule, on-budget project that meets specification and quality targets.
  • Establish the site trailer/office; post permits, labor notices, safety rules, and EEOC materials; arrange sanitary stations and hydration.
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors; communicate expectations and verify work-in-place matches drawings and specs.
  • Own the master and look-ahead schedules; forecast issues early and drive recovery plans.
  • Order materials, coordinate deliveries, and sequence inspections to maintain flow.
  • Champion safety: lead meetings, enforce policies, and immediately mitigate hazards.
  • Build and maintain complete submittal logs; track architect/engineer approvals and flag potential schedule impacts.
  • Support the PM with pricing and documentation for change requests.
  • Manage closeout requirements and assemble contractually required closeout documents.
  • Issue and maintain current contract documents to trade partners, inclusive of accepted alternates and addenda.
  • Plan and run construction meetings; record and distribute accurate minutes promptly.
  • Participate in owner/architect pre-bid, project, and closeout meetings.
  • Pre-bid outreach to subcontractors and suppliers to secure timely, complete proposals.
  • Produce professional correspondence (schedule of values, updated schedules, RFIs, transmittals, submittals, memos).
  • Submit building permit applications, monitor review progress, and coordinate fee payment requests via Accounting.
  • Leverage scheduling and document control tools to manage quality, schedule, budget, and safety throughout construction.
  • Track trade partner performance and communicate design or schedule changes swiftly.
  • Report productivity, costs, quality control, document status, and pay app processing; escalate risks affecting quality, budget, progress, or safety.
  • Create, schedule, and supervise execution of the final punch list.
  • Keep the site and office organized and professional; nurture positive relationships with owners, designers, trades, and suppliers.
  • Take on other related duties that align with the role’s purpose.

What You Bring
