Industrial Compressed Air Field Service Technician

For 49 years, Comp-Air Ohio has supported Northern Ohio’s manufacturers as a trusted Gardner Denver distributor—delivering efficient compressors, dryers, and complete compressed-air solutions. We’re expanding our field team to keep those operations running at peak performance.

A day in this role

You start your morning reviewing dispatch details, then roll out in a company truck to a customer site. By mid-day you may be overhauling a rotary screw compressor, diagnosing an electrical control issue, or performing preventive service on a refrigerated or desiccant dryer. In the afternoon, you could be installing new equipment and tying in plant air piping to bring a system online—leaving each site cleaner, safer, and more reliable than when you arrived.

What you’ll do

  • Perform on-site service, maintenance, and repairs on multiple brands of air compressors.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and maintain refrigerated and desiccant dryers.
  • Install new compressors/dryers and complete plant air piping and hookups.
  • Diagnose and correct electrical control issues, restoring safe and stable operation.
  • Support customers with clear communication and recommendations for reliability.

What you’ll bring

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with industrial compressors or comparable rotating/industrial equipment.
  • Proven strength in electrical control troubleshooting and repair.
  • Refrigeration recovery certification (EPA).
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
  • Your own standard tool set and electrical meters.
  • A service-minded approach and professional customer interaction.
