About the Role

As an Industrial Automation Maintenance Technologist, you will be the on-the-floor expert keeping our plant running at peak performance. You will execute both on-demand repairs and rigorous preventive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems. You will also drive continuous improvement, help shape department priorities, and coach teammates on proper equipment care.

A Day in the Life

  • Begin with a safety walkthrough and verify adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies.
  • Review overnight downtime logs; perform electrical testing and targeted troubleshooting to reduce recurring issues.
  • Tune automation and controls to optimize safety, quality, and efficiency; update or implement enhancements using state-of-the-art electronics and controls.
  • Own and update SOPs for the role; standardize best practices to drive reliable, repeatable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with operations to prioritize maintenance activities and schedule PMs for mechanical, electrical, and controls infrastructure.
  • Coach peers on safe work practices and equipment care; step in to prevent unsafe behaviors and promptly report safety concerns, accidents, and near misses.
  • Keep the workspace organized and free of debris, and participate in safety inspections and accident investigations.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship program, technical school, or Associate degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and technical capabilities.
  • Strong computer skills and high comfort with technology and systems.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and ladder logic.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment as required and lift/move up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the alcohol beverage industry or in CPG manufacturing.
  • 3 years of hands-on electrical work including Allen Bradley PLC programming and hardware, plus equipment troubleshooting.

Core Proficiencies

  • PLC troubleshooting skills and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with 120/208/240/480 voltage systems.
  • Electrical installation and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Industrial electrical experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate industrial equipment as required.
  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
  • In-person job attendance.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to read and write.

  • Noise level at work station is loud (metal can manufacturing, large earth moving equipment).
