    Step into a day on our controls design team

    You start by syncing with program managers and fellow controls engineers to confirm priorities and timelines. From there, you translate machine requirements into robust control architectures using EPLAN and AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical—laying out electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits for custom machinery. As designs take shape, you generate accurate bills of materials to align procurement and build activities. Midday, you partner with Manufacturing Engineering to craft assembly, process control, and quality workmanship procedures that ensure what we design can be built reliably. Throughout the day, you iterate quickly, communicate clearly, and keep the project on schedule. You wrap up by documenting updates and scanning the latest industry practices to keep your approach sharp.

    What you will take on

    • Design controls systems for one-of-a-kind machines leveraging EPLAN and AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
    • Think conceptually to determine the right level of detail at each project stage and translate concepts into clear, buildable designs.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive bills of materials tied to your designs.
    • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on assembly methods, process controls, and workmanship standards.
    • Communicate proactively with program managers and controls engineers to maintain steady project flow.
    • Stay current on controls engineering concepts, practices, and procedures—and apply them daily.

    What you bring

    • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in controls or electrical design for machinery.
    • At least 2 years using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical in a professional setting.
    • Proven ability to size electrical systems accurately.
    • Comfort adapting to change and contributing in a collaborative, team-based environment.
