Description
As an Indirect Materials Specialist (IMS), you'll procure and maintain adequate inventories of quality material in the most cost-efficient manner possible. You will perform duties such as inventory information analysis and problem-solving; procurement of and management of indirect materials; and will serve as a member of partnership teams with Procurement, suppliers and in-plant customers. You will actively participate on improvement teams, projects and safety program. This role requires extensive work in SAP and other desktop applications for material management, communication and reporting.
Responsibilities
Process stock authorization (SA) requests
Create repair purchase reqs (PRs) and convert to purchase orders (POs); assist Maintenance with Repairables paperwork; request RMA from repair vendor; complete MSO
Maintain work orders
Monitor and process back issue list; release back-issue pick tickets. Send daily back issue reports to on-site consignment vendors
Maintain material master data
Work with vendors to update Part Number (PN) and Global Material Number (GMN) descriptions
Maintain MRP parameters, bin locations, GMN descriptions and images, etc.
Process stock authorization requests for GMN creations, deletions and changes
Locate new GMNs and fabricated parts
Adjust min/max of GMN based on consumption
Assist customers in finding GMNs
Review, revise and release MRP requisitions
Expedite urgent requests for Stores material
Assist area with expediting critical materials by credit card, PR, PO, etc.
Check and process ME57 buyer's queue
Assist buyers in fulfilling quote requests, in-bins for blocked invoices, etc.
Work on Expediting Report (contact vendors with overdue POs, update delivery dates, etc.)
Create, acknowledge and maintain POs: Expedite overdue POs, update delivery dates, approve payments on blanket POs, resolve receipt &/or invoice discrepancies in conjunction with Accounting and the vendor, etc.
Compile and report monthly cost savings
Manage consignment according to process, including monitoring of daily 919 movements, managing daily charges and returns to/from consignment stocks and sending daily consignment reports to consignment vendors
Requisition material to meet stocking needs; use other plants' excess stock, in-house fabrication & reverse engineering as needed
Conduct annual inventory counts and resolve discrepancies
Monitor, adjust and maintain optimum, cost-effective stocking levels to meet customers' needs
Identify and remove excess or obsolete stock
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies &/or missing material in Receiving and Stores
Process in-bins in SAP
Restock material in assigned locations; issue and return materials
Process YPMGI to issue materials; return repairable correctly from YRESL
Understand, process and resolve problems with EDI pick tickets
Maintain, label and update storage and bin locations
Transfer materials between storerooms, plants, companies, etc.
Monitor outstanding repairable items; facilitate repair of stocked and nonstock parts
Follow all department processes to meet audit requirements
