A day in this role
At 6:00am, you’re reviewing advance ship notices and packing slips to set priorities. As trailers hit the dock, you’re on the floor—coaching teammates on safe unloading and proper staging, verifying receipts against purchase orders, and operating a reach truck to move product to the right locations. Throughout the morning, you troubleshoot discrepancies, sync with carrier reps, and collaborate with management to resolve damages or shortages. By early afternoon, you’ve updated records, supported cross-training, reinforced 5S standards, and ensured inbound goals are met before wrap-up at 2:30pm.

Position summary
Support the Inbound Supervisor by coordinating, training, and actively participating in receiving, verification, record-keeping, replenishment, and put-away to meet daily inbound targets and quality standards.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm
Key responsibilities
- Review receiving notices, packing slips, and related records to set priorities and methods that meet schedule requirements.
- Assist with planning, organizing, participating in, and monitoring receiving, storage, and distribution processes for all inbound items.
- Oversee unloading activities in the Receiving area and ensure proper staging.
- Train and direct assigned personnel on unloading, receiving, and moving materials from inbound dock to staging.
- Maintain records of unfilled received shipments and reconcile receiving documentation.
- Help resolve invoice and packing slip discrepancies in coordination with Accounting.
- Partner with management to address damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
- Communicate with carrier representatives to schedule deliveries and provide instructions.
- Foster effective working relationships and a collaborative team environment; support cross-training to boost versatility.
- Verify that goods received match purchase orders or packing lists.
- Professionally and safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols, participate in ongoing training, and reinforce a safety-conscious culture.
- Apply 5S principles daily to maintain organization, efficiency, and cleanliness.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Ability to work the required shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm).
Work environment
Warehouse setting with standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, cameras, and material handling equipment (forklift, reach truck, order picker, etc.).
Physical demands
- Standing: Frequently remain in a stationary position.
- Walking, reaching, handling: Frequently move about the warehouse to access product and machinery; stand and walk ~60% of the time; lift up to 40 lbs routinely and up to 70 lbs less than 10% of the time.
- Seeing: Frequently read documents and operate computer and other tools/databases/equipment.
- Talking/hearing: Frequently communicate with colleagues, co-workers, and customers and exchange accurate information.
- Manual dexterity: Frequently operate a computer and warehouse machinery.
Qualifications
- Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Equipment proficiency: Pallet jack, forklift, hand truck, reach truck, and similar MHE.
- Strong problem-solving, detail orientation, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Follows instructions, responds well to direction, and communicates effectively in writing and verbally.
- Team-oriented with experience collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
