The Import Product Developer is a key member of our team – responsible for the vendor communication and follow up on every aspect of the garment's development process. This position reports directly to the Sr Director of Imports and is a dynamic role that requires excellent time management skills and multi-tasking. The ideal candidate will be within reasonable commuting distance of the Mumu HQ in Los Angeles, CA. This role's schedule is hybrid and works in an open office at the HQ, 3 days per week.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitate the physical creation of Development garment samplesCreate and maintain internal WIP charts for each seasonReceive vendor packages and disperse the contents to the correct team memberPrioritize skus for Tech and fittingsAttend fittingsDaily communication with members of the Design and Tech team as well as outside vendors regarding construction, workmanship, answer questions, etcIssue POs to contractorsConfirm, record, and organize all vendor pricingAttend weekly touch base meetings with the Designer, Sr Director of Imports, and VP of Manufacturing to report on the status of each skuMaintain and enforce Due Dates with outside vendors to ensure time and action deadlines are achievedReview and sign off on vendor invoicing providing the necessary backup paperwork to accountingBuild new vendor relationships and identify potential opportunities to further product quality and increase profit marginOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSComfortable in working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as neededProficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and OutlookCandidate must be highly organized with ability to prioritize with a sense of urgencyCandidate must be a team player, willing and able to work cross-functionally with multiple departmentsDynamic problem solving and project management skillsAnalytical self-starter with a proven history of success self-managing complete steps of the production processMust have proven knowledge of garment construction including points of measurement and sewing techniquesEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEWomen's Denim and Ready To Wear experience is a mustMinimum 4 years working in Product Development on Women's Contemporary apparelEducation or certification in garment manufacturing is a plusExtremely proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and OutlookFull Circle experience is preferredAble to work and think independently as well as part of a teamExcellent follow-through and attention to detailKnowledge across multiple categories.
