The Import / Export Compliance Analyst supports critical international trade compliance activities to ensure adherence to U.S. import and export regulations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of trade compliance processes, partnering cross-functionally to mitigate risk and maintain regulatory integrity across global operations.
This is a hybrid role. Candidates must reside near a company office location (excluding Florida).
Import Compliance
Ensure imports comply with U.S. Customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, assists, recordkeeping, ADD/CVD, and special trade programs
Support post-entry activities, including Post Summary Corrections and prior disclosures as directed
Export Compliance
Ensure exports comply with Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
Determine correct Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN)
Screen export transactions against restricted and denied party lists
Maintain required documentation and reporting
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering and Materials teams (globally) to determine proper HTS and ECCN classifications
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, foreign order administrators, and customs officials
Process & Controls
Follow and enforce internal import/export compliance controls
Update procedures and work instructions to reflect current practices or process improvements
Meet or exceed compliance goals, objectives, and processing timelines
Administrative & Communication Duties
Manage and organize shared Outlook mailboxes
Ensure timely review and response to all compliance-related communications
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Hands-on experience with HTS codes, ECCN classifications, and export control classification
Experience with BIS licensing and import brokerage
Strong understanding of trade compliance (not logistics-focused)
Risk mitigation mindset
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to interpret ambiguity and incomplete information
1–3 years of experience in international trade compliance
Working knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ECCN classification
Familiarity with U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the Commerce Control List (CCL)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accuracy
Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain or related field preferred)
SAP experience
Experience in a high-tech or manufacturing environment
