Position Summary

Are you passionate about developing and empowering imaging professionals? Orlando Health is seeking an Imaging Educator to lead the educational and professional development initiatives across our Imaging Services departments. In this impactful role, you will design, implement, and maintain comprehensive education programs, competency assessments, and orientation processes that support clinical excellence and exceptional patient care throughout all Orlando Health facilities.

Working closely with imaging leaders and team members, you will develop education plans that align with Joint Commission standards, accreditation requirements, and departmental goals—helping ensure our teams remain knowledgeable, skilled, and prepared to deliver the highest quality care.

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Essential Functions
• Provides general and specialty-specific education to prepare imaging staff to be safe, efficient, and competent.
• Assigns and monitors monthly education to Imaging Services clinical and non-clinical team members.
• Assigns and monitors education for new hire team members, along with scheduling required classes for designated job
responsibilities.
• Develops educational materials based on the needs of the department and/or changes in policy or procedure.
• Participates in the corporate preceptor program.
• Participates in corporate modality workgroup meetings.
• Participates and represents Imaging on corporate education councils and Policy and Procedure Committee.
• Assists Imaging leadership with Joint Commission preparation, safety issues, and Care Reviews as requested.
• Provides Radiology-related presentations to local high schools, Radiography programs, and the RN Residency Program.
• Works with Clinical Learning to assess the competence of clinical staff annually using the Clinical Competency Review (CCR) format and/or other skills evaluation processes, including IV competencies and Port Access check-off.
• Plans, develops, coordinates, and evaluates imaging-specific education to maintain or increase the skill and knowledge of the Imaging team members.
• Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into all programs developed internally or presented by external sources.
• Adheres to Orlando Health value statements and Commitment to Excellence standards.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements.

 

Other Related Functions
• Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting
agencies.
• Serves as a liaison and informal consultant to other Orlando Health departments/committees regarding educational efforts as assigned by the Imaging Services Director.
• Participates in process improvement activities as assigned, including GEMBA boards.

Qualifications:

Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree required.

 

Licensure/Certification
• Must maintain one of the following:
• A valid Florida State license as a Radiologic Technologist and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
certification with an advanced modality certification in CT, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine
• A valid Florida State license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and either American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
• Certified as a sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Certified as an MRI Technologist through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
• Must maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

 

Experience
Five (5) years of clinical experience required, with a minimum of two (2) years in either advanced modality (MRI, CT, US, or Nuclear Medicine) or teaching/training.
