JOB DESCRIPTION

The Imaging Coordinator organizes and maintains the daily schedule to meet the needs of patients and physicians of the medical staff at facilities in the Baptist Health Care organization. This position is available as a resource and communicator for physicians, patients, department, and hospital personnel, visitors, etc., regarding the overall daily operations of the department. This position maintains all medical records and files. This position obtains and inputs data required for outpatient appointments, performs functions of film librarian, and communicates reports to physician's offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you will do
  • Greets all customers; courteously answers the phone with a greeting, the name of the department, identification and demonstrates and attitude of helpfulness. Transfers calls when appropriate and takes accurate messages.
  • Responsible for reception, copying, faxing, scanning, filing and other essential office duties. Maintains paper and/or electronic files.
  • Check in patient for exams and procedures.
  • Obtains and inputs data for outpatient services.
  • Assists patients and staff with the location of images for sharing and consultation with radiologists and other providers inside and outside of the Baptist Health Care System.
  • Discretely deals with confidential information contained in the EMR, PACs system, and other PHI.
  • Initiates and maintains imaging records, correspondence, reports and resources.
  • Anticipates equipment and supply needs for the support areas of the Imaging Department.
  • Monitors waiting rooms and sub-lobbies for cleanliness and organizes when necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Ability to perform general office procedures and practices, including daily computer applications, operations and relevant equipment functions.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, records management and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information.
  • Able to function effectively with frequent interruptions and multitask daily.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
