This ICU Stepdown RN position is based in Sanford, FL, supporting a hospital that requires close monitoring and frequent assessment of patients who fall between intensive and general medical care acuity levels.

The role. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the ICU Stepdown RN collects comprehensive patient data and applies clinical judgment to manage care safely and autonomously. Core responsibilities include continuous monitoring of critical vital signs with the ability to recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations, advocating for patients across the care team, and educating patients and families about medications, procedures, and treatments to support them throughout their stay.

What we're looking for.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU Stepdown RN experience; candidates with 3 years of Cardiac PCU or Multisystem PCU experience will also be considered
  • Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN preferred
  • Active Florida RN license or approved multistate compact RN license required; compact license holders must obtain the Florida state license within 60 days of relocation
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends.

Compensation. $31.86 - $46.28/hr
