I-9 Compliance Specialist 
Pay Range: $32/hour to $34/hour 

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented I-9 Compliance Specialist to support employment eligibility verification and HR compliance processes. This role is responsible for reviewing, processing, and auditing Form I-9 documentation for new hires while ensuring compliance with federal employment eligibility requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, HR compliance experience, and the ability to manage sensitive employee documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process Section 1 and Section 2 of Form I-9 for new hires
  • Verify employment eligibility documentation in accordance with federal regulations
  • Track, monitor, and follow up on pending or incomplete I-9 documentation for remote and onsite employees
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Communicate with employees, HR Business Partners, and stakeholders to resolve documentation issues or discrepancies
  • Conduct monthly audits of Form I-9 records, including receipt tracking and reverification of expiring documents
  • Stay current on I-9 compliance regulations, E-Verify requirements, and federal employment eligibility guidelines
  • Support HR compliance initiatives and audit readiness efforts

Required Qualifications
  • 1–3+ years of experience in HR compliance, HR operations, or I-9 administration
  • Prior experience processing Form I-9 documentation strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of employment eligibility verification requirements
  • Familiarity with E-Verify processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred)
  • Experience conducting HR audits or compliance reviews
  • Knowledge of federal employment law related to onboarding and eligibility verification
