Description

Job Title: Senior I&C Design Engineer

Location: Bellevue, WA | Remote

Pay Rate: $69-$115/hr

Employment Type: Contract | Full-Time | 12 months

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead I&C design for advanced nuclear reactor programs, developing system requirements documents, design descriptions, interface control documents, and drawing packages including P&IDs, control logic diagrams, and instrument installation drawings.
  • Specify instrumentation measurement techniques, analyze and apply regulatory criteria (nuclear codes, IEEE/IEC standards, NRC regulations), and evaluate suitability for high-temperature sodium fast reactor applications.
  • Provide technical oversight of I&C suppliers, coordinate design team efforts across geographically diverse internal and external stakeholders, and support licensing activities tied to Safety Analysis Reports.
  • Integrate I&C systems with multi-disciplinary teams; manage design changes, change control, and project tasks per schedule and budget.

Essential Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degrees count toward the 10+ years of required instrumentation and controls experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering industrial I&C platforms, including diagnostics, PFDs, P&IDs, and familiarity with nuclear QA standards (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1).
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and self-directed leadership skills; ability to manage competing design constraints and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams with minimal supervision.
