As an I-BEST Transitional Studies faculty member, you'll team teach alongside professional-technical faculty while providing hands-on academic support, mentorship, and connections to resources that help students overcome barriers and achieve their goals. Salary: For fall quarter (September 22-December 11) this assignment provides a 121-hour contract at a $72.89 hourly rate. This position is grant-funded and has the possibility of continuing through the academic year. HVAC-R classes are scheduled Monday-Thursday. While I-BEST assignments are flexible, work hours will generally occur during these days and around morning class hours, with some afternoons being needed.

The work schedule will vary based on student and college needs. Some evening hours are expected. This is not a remote position. On campus teaching and presence are required.
Benefits:
This position will receive prorated leave based on the BEA CBA. The following benefits are in accordance with the Bellingham Education Association (BEA) and subject to change with each negotiated contact. Current BEA contract expires June 30, 2028.

Adjunct Faculty positions are not expected to be eligible for health and retirement benefits upon hire.
However, Adjunct Faculty may be eligible for health and retirement benefits upon hire depending on certain criteria. Eligibility requirements depend on length of employment and workload. Employment at other WA State colleges may be considered in determining eligibility.
Adjunct faculty receive some sick leave accrual; ability to participate in an employee assistance program (EAP); potential tuition waiver benefits depending on percent of full-time; doctoral stipend depending on teaching credit load per quarater and type of program; longevity increment after teaching 1375 hours at BTC.
