Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Instructional Assistant Para Educator at Green Valley Elementary School for the 2026/2027 school year! In this role, you will work alongside our teachers, providing valuable support in both instructional and non-instructional classroom tasks. Your main responsibilities will include tutoring, assisting individual students or small groups with assignments, and implementing behavior management strategies. The successful candidate will maintain a positive and upbeat atmosphere, contribute to creating a pleasant learning environment where students can thrive, and undertake clerical and administrative duties such as record-keeping, preparing materials, and monitoring student progress. To excel in this role, the candidate should have a strong grasp of child development, behavior management, and instructional processes. They must demonstrate the ability to follow both oral and written instructions, work independently with a sense of accountability, and establish positive working relationships with staff and volunteers. Good organizational skills are essential, as is proficiency in operating office equipment. Additionally, the candidate should be adaptable to the varying needs of our students. Prior experience working with school-age children, and having first aid and CPR certificates would be desired but is not required. The position is 1.5 hours per day and 100 days per year. The exact days and daily schedule is TBD. This position is for the 2026/2027 school year and will start in September 2026.
