Hygiene Mentor / Dental Hygienist (Full-Time)

We are seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist / Hygiene Mentor to join our growing team. This unique role offers the opportunity to combine clinical chairside care with mentorship and leadership support for our hygiene teams.
This position is ideal for a hygienist who is passionate not only about patient care, but also about developing, coaching, and supporting other clinicians.
Position Overview
- Full-time role (5 days per week)
- Combination of:
- Clinical hygiene (chairside)
- Hygiene mentoring and coaching
- Schedule will vary with no set days for clinical vs. mentoring responsibilities
- Location will be determined based on candidate location and business needs
Compensation
- Clinical hygiene days: Commission-based
- Mentoring days: Set daily rate/salary (based on number of days in the field)
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including:
- Cleanings and periodontal treatments
- Patient education and preventive care
- X-rays and documentation
- Maintain high standards of patient care and clinical excellence
- Perform all standard duties expected of a licensed Dental Hygienist
Mentorship Responsibilities
Interpersonal & Relationship Development
- Build strong relationships with hygiene teams
- Foster trust and team collaboration
Clinical Oversight & Coaching
- Provide one-on-one guidance to hygienists
- Support adherence to clinical standards of care
Training & Education
- Lead hygiene meetings and training sessions
- Educate teams on new techniques and clinical advancements
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze hygiene KPIs
- Identify opportunities for improvement and provide coaching
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Dental Hygienist license (required)
- Local anesthesia certification preferred
- Nitrous oxide certification preferred
- Willingness to perform both clinical and mentoring duties
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
- Passion for team development and clinical excellence
