Purpose and challenge
Your mission: protect consumers and the brand by leading sanitation across an entire food and beverage plant. From SSOP execution to CIP validation, you will be the on-the-floor champion for contamination prevention and audit readiness. You turn procedures into habits, documentation into proof, and clean equipment into productive uptime.
Imagine your week
You begin on the floor, walking lines, checking chemical concentrations, confirming yesterday’s CIP cycle reports, and releasing equipment for startup. Midweek, you train a new team member on GMP behaviors, close out pre-op deviations, and prep documentation for an upcoming SQF audit. By Friday, you’ve validated CIP on tanks and transfer lines, reviewed EMP swab results, and balanced chemical inventory for the weekend run.
Core responsibilities
Lead plant-wide sanitation: equipment cleaning, CIP execution, and facility hygiene standards
Supervise and develop sanitation staff on SSOPs, GMPs, and food safety practices
Run, monitor, and validate CIP for tanks, lines, and processing equipment
Maintain compliance with HACCP, FDA/USDA regulations, and internal programs
Conduct pre-op inspections, environmental monitoring, and verification activities
Manage accurate records: sanitation logs, chemical usage/titration, and audit files
Control inventory of sanitation chemicals, detergents, and supplies
Coordinate with Quality and Production to ensure timely, clean release of equipment
Lead/support GMP, SQF, FDA, and third-party audits
Required experience
Leadership experience in sanitation within food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing
Hands-on background with CIP systems and sanitation equipment
Strong command of SSOPs, GMPs, and HACCP
Exposure to food safety audits and regulatory inspections
Experience cleaning processing equipment such as tanks, lines, fillers, or blenders
Ability to work in wet, chemical, and fast-paced environments
Preferred profile
Experience in beverage, alcohol, dairy, or other liquid-processing operations
Familiarity with Sanimatic or other automated CIP platforms
Experience with EMP (environmental monitoring programs)
SQF/HACCP certifications or food safety training
Knowledge of chemical dispensing systems and titration
