Job Summary and Qualifications

The Division HVAC Technician performs preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots, and services industrial HVAC systems in multiple acute care and non-acute care hospital settings under the direction of the Senior HVAC technician. The technician performs tests and analysis of data to assure the proper functioning of equipment. Under the supervision of the Division Senior HVAC technician, the HVAC technician will be expected to reliably maintain all equipment per HCA Healthcare Engineering standards to ensure the highest level of efficiency and to reduce business interruptions. Must be well organized, keep accurate service and maintenance records using HCA Healthcare’s computerized maintenance management system, and communicate in a clear and professional manner with all patients, visitors, colleagues and leaders. This position requires travel to acute care hospitals and associated free standing emergency departments in the division.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain chilled water and centralized air handling units through regularly scheduled preventative maintenance activities
  • Perform coil cleanings, filter changes, test and balance activities, sensor calibrations, and UV bulb replacements
  • Belt alignments and replacement, drain pan treatments, damper calibration and repairs, cleaning interior of AHU
  • Perform electrical safety inspections
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, specification and operations manuals
  • Perform work to the highest industry and manufacturer recommended standards
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and local safety guidelines including, but not limited to, lock-out/tag-out, OSHA, confined space, PPE, etc.
  • Completes and documents all work, equipment conditions and labor time using HCA Healthcare Engineering Central Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent Required
  • 1 year of experience in a commercial, industrial, or healthcare environment Required

Licensure, Certifications, Training:

  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification Required (90 grace period to complete after date of hire)
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing Required
