HVAC Technician

Facilities Operations & Maintenance

Position Summary

We have an immediate opening for a full-time HVAC Technician supporting facility operations and maintenance within a large industrial and mission-critical environment. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and emergency response support across a variety of commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical systems.

The HVAC Technician will serve as a first responder for service calls, maintain facility equipment reliability, support preventative maintenance programs, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Journeyman-level technician with strong troubleshooting abilities, customer service skills, and experience supporting large-scale facilities environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Service and maintain equipment including:
    • Air-cooled and centrifugal chillers greater than 1000 tons
    • Fan coil systems
    • Ductless split systems
    • Split AC units
    • Swamp coolers
    • Refrigeration units
  • Respond to service calls and support rapid-response maintenance requirements.
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs, inspections, and equipment/system monitoring.
  • Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend repairs or operational improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility mechanical and building systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for covered equipment repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs, maintenance documentation, and service records.
  • Recommend spare parts inventory and supply purchases for facility equipment.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection requirements.
  • Support emergency maintenance response and participate in on-call or standby rotations as required.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of newly hired HVAC technicians.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, team members, and facility personnel.

    Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical Journeyman License required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of practical experience within industrial or large commercial HVAC/mechanical environments.
  • Experience supporting facilities greater than 20,000 square feet.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair experience with commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • 30-Hour OSHA Certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • EPA refrigerant handling certification or applicable refrigerant licensing required.
  • Working knowledge of boiler and steam systems operations and service.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within large facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computers, digital work order systems, and mobile technology tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • $36 - $40 p/hr (Annual - $74,000 - $83,000)
