Overview:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems across industrial, commercial, laboratory, and support facilities. This position provides technical competencies to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements and supports mission-critical operations in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Must be a US Citizen
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school certification or Associate Degree in HVAC/R, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of HVAC maintenance experience in residential, industrial, commercial, government, nuclear, or manufacturing facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and air handling units.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency using CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications.
- Journeyman or Master HVAC License.
- Experience in DOE, nuclear, industrial, or federal facilities.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, and energy management systems.
- Experience with safety programs including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Hazard Analysis.
