As a Commercial HVAC-R Technician II at ABM, you'll maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a diverse range of commercial and industrial systems across Tucson, including chilled water systems, boilers, controls, package units, split systems, ice machines, and walk-in coolers and freezers.

Responsibilities

Here is some of your day:

  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and adjust pilots, thermostats, burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches, and other electrical system components.
  • Use common HVAC-R trade tools in daily work, including multimeters, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, and hand tools.
  • Install, maintain, and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Identify maintenance risks on equipment and communicate recommended corrective actions.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for commercial HVAC systems, ice machines, and supporting equipment.
  • Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty-related service work as needed.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial ice machines and related refrigeration components.
  • Respond to emergency service calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced technicians when needed.
  • Keep daily logs and accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Assist with customer inquiries in a professional and service-oriented manner.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of field-based commercial HVAC or HVAC-R experience, including experience servicing refrigeration equipment and ice machines.
  • An EPA Universal certification
  • A safety-first mind set and the ability to provide your own hand tools
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize service calls, and maintain a high standard of customer service
  • Comfortable and capable of working at elevated heights

Preferred

  • HVAC trade, technical school, or vocational training
