- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- At least a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HVAC service technician, and willingness to continue education in the HVAC field.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
- Inspect, repair, and modify HVAC equipment, including refrigeration and air conditioning, Roof top units, Split Systems, VRF, Chillers, Cooling Towers, and pumps.
Conduct regular preventive maintenance, inspections of all HVAC equipment, including refrigeration and air conditioning, Roof top units, Split Systems, VRF, Chillers, Cooling Towers, and pumps.
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, controls, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, high-limit controls, and pressure controls.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Operate various hand and power tools, a vacuum pump, and test equipment utilized in the trade and a motor vehicle; maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition; maintain parts and tool inventory.
- Perform skilled electrical maintenance work in repairing and altering HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors, and wiring systems as needed.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements.
- Technician is required to be on-call for after-hours emergency service calls. The on-call schedule is defined in advance, and technicians are on rotation throughout the year.
