QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in HVAC or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably in residential or commercial settings.

Certifications (Preferred or Required)

  • EPA Section 608 Certification (required for handling refrigerants)
  • HVAC Certification from an accredited institution
  • OSHA Safety Training (preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Preventive Maintenance

Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems (air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ventilation units).
Clean and replace filters, coils, and other system components.
Conduct system performance checks to ensure efficiency and reliability.

2. Diagnostics and Repairs

Troubleshoot HVAC system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs.
Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, and electrical wiring.
Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance calls in a timely manner.

3. Installation Support

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new HVAC systems and upgrades.
Ensure installations comply with manufacturer specifications and local codes.

4. System Monitoring and Optimization

Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and cost reduction.
Identify potential risks or failures before they escalate into major issues.

5. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and work orders.
Report completed tasks, material usage, and system conditions to supervisors or property management.

6. Compliance and Safety

Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company policies.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of refrigerants and hazardous materials.
Maintain compliance with EPA regulations and local building codes.

7. Collaboration

Coordinate with property management, contractors, and vendors as needed.
Support other maintenance team members in general repair tasks when required.
