We are partnering with a leading HVAC and Building Automation provider serving the DC Metro area. Their team delivers advanced, energy-efficient building solutions for Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional Clients across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

They are seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Technician to perform system checkout, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning for Commercial Controls projects throughout the region.

Job Details

This field-based HVAC Controls Technician will work with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, and internal Controls teams to ensure Building Automation projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform checkout, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning of HVAC Controls systems
  • Support Low Voltage subcontractors with wiring, terminations, and Controls clarification
  • Start up and troubleshoot Tracer products, electronic Controls, and pneumatic systems
  • Review project drawings, specifications, submittals, and sequences
  • Perform point-to-point checkout and verify proper system operation
  • Coordinate project completion and communicate field issues to Project Managers
  • Complete as-built updates, setpoint information, service tickets, and project documentation

MUST HAVE:
  • HVAC Controls, BAS, Building Automation, or DDC experience
  • Controls checkout, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of Low Voltage wiring, terminations, and Commercial HVAC systems
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
  • At least one Journeyman license in Maryland, Washington, DC, or Virginia
  • Ability to obtain the required regional licenses and OSHA 30 within six months
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel throughout the DC Metro area and meet the physical requirements of the position

NICE TO HAVE:
  • Niagara 4 Technical Certification
  • Trane/Tracer Controls or Trane service-tool experience
  • DDC programming and BAS integration experience
  • OSHA 30 or multiple Journeyman licenses
