Summary:
An established Commercial HVAC Service Company is looking to hire a Controls Technician out of South Florida. The company provides HVAC Services in the area, and is looking to expand their controls department.
Responsibilities:
* Install, commission, and re-commission building automation systems using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic technologies.
* Conduct comprehensive testing, programming, and maintenance of control systems, including static and dynamic commissioning.
* Configure operator workstations, design graphical interfaces, and establish control system networks in partnership with IT and design teams.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control systems using tools such as multimeters, laptops, and network terminals.
* Maintain accurate as-built documentation and update system drawings with software like Visio, Excel, and Word.
* Perform job database backups and provide clear documentation and handoffs to service teams.
* Monitor and report project progress, keeping project managers and team leaders updated on status, challenges, and resolutions.
* Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, clearly communicating system issues and solutions while collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality service.
* Coordinate with internal departments-including dispatch, purchasing, engineering, and service teams-to meet customer needs efficiently.
* Identify opportunities for additional services, upgrades, or maintenance agreements and communicate them to support business development.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Additional technical training in HVAC, building automation systems (BAS), controls, or electronics is preferred.
* 3+ years of experience in HVAC controls installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, control logic, and electronics, with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
* Familiarity with BAS communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks is a plus.
* Proficient in using diagnostic tools, including multimeters and laptops, to test sensors, circuits, and relays.
* Valid driver"s license with a clean driving record, and ability to safely operate company vehicles.
* Willingness to travel to job sites and work flexible schedules as required.S
