I. JOB SUMMARY

Performs highly advanced and supervisory social service, case management work, and behavioral health

program delivery to identified inmates that promotes health and healing from trauma. Work involves

planning and coordinating trauma informed programming and activities for victims of human trafficking or

sexual trauma; collecting, preparing, and reviewing cases to facilitate access to medical, educational,

social, and other services; providing intervention and frequent contact with inmates, facilities, and service

providers. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and

independent judgement.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Oversees and evaluates case management services for the reentry and integration of special

populations being released to the community; coordinates pre-release referrals and placements as

needed and follows up as needed.

B. Plans and evaluates trauma-informed behavioral health programming, and coordinates with other

departments, divisions, agencies, and community organizations for the delivery of case management

services to inmates with histories of human trafficking and sexual trauma.

C. Coordinates with medical staff, inmates and inmate families, and service providers to access care

needs; provides specialized assessments; provides individual and group counseling and recovery

skills training; and recommends and develops reentry plans.

D. Maintains progress records; prepares reports to include statistical feedback on provided services;

and monitors program outcomes.

E. Serves as point of contact for the Tattoo Removal program and Human Trafficking program; and

provides liaison with program staff, governmental agencies, inmate or client families, faith-based

support groups, and other organizations.

F. Prepares and oversees the preparation and maintenance of correspondence and required records,

repots, and other documentation; and compiles and analyzes data and prepares summary reports.

G. Organizes, assigns, and reviews the work of others; and provides training and technical assistance

in the program area.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education, Experience, and Training

  1. Bachelor''s degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the

Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of

Education (USDE). Major course work in Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, Social Work, or

a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required

four years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university

on a year-for-year basis.

  1. Four years full-time, wage-earning case management, case processing, human services, social

services, operational support, or criminal justice experience.

B. Knowledge and Skills

  1. Knowledge of community and government service delivery systems and case management

delivery systems.

  1. Knowledge of case management guidelines, regulations, and policies.

  2. Knowledge of mental illness and the emotional components of trauma and/or physical illness

and disabilities.

  1. Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes.

  2. Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules,

and regulations preferred.

  1. Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.

  2. Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the

public.

  1. Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  2. Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques.

  3. Skill in interviewing and in conducting individual needs assessments.

  4. Skill to review technical data, prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports; and

develop plans for monitoring program activities and outcomes.

  1. Skill to conduct individual and group discussions.

  2. Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network

environment.

  1. Skill to organize, assign, and review the work of others.

IV. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION

A. Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly,

climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift

and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.

B. Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects,

radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or

irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane.

C. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include

computer and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, dolly, and automobile.
