Position Information

New Hanover County is seeking a detail oriented, customer focused Long-Term Care Caseworker Supervisor in the Department of Social Services. Responsibilities will include supervising a unit of caseworkers responsible for determining Long-Term Care, Special Assistance, Special Assistance In-home, PACE, CAP and eligibility for benefits of various community resource programs; assigning and monitoring work; training new and ongoing workers; interpreting program policies; reviewing cases for accuracy; responding to complaints and inquiries; evaluating policies and procedures with state and county representatives; preparing reports; and evaluating unit needs for budget purposes.

Hours:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Must be available to report for emergency work assignments during emergency situations.

Salary Information:

The hiring range for this position begins at $53,668. Salary will be determined based on qualifications. Bilingual candidates are eligible for a differential (5%) when performing Spanish language interpretation during the course of work.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of universal, economic services or income maintenance caseworker experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the specific position as listed above.

NC FAST proficiency and previous supervisory experience is preferred.
