The duties include:
• Preparing and/or reviewing position and job descriptions, conducting desk audits, writing reports of findings, providing classification training, and preparing evaluations as required by authority.
• Locating, interpreting, analyzing, and applying Position Classification Standards and Guides.
• Resolving conflicts, analyzing and anticipating potential problems, and recommending preventive actions.
• Developing, modifying, conducting, and/or overseeing the presentation of formal training in classification, position management, and desk audits.
• Preparing documentation for classification appeals and other inquiries.
• Providing guidance and instruction to managers and junior specialists unfamiliar with complex classification issues (mixed positions, cross series comparison, etc.).
