PRIMARY FUNCTION: To perform clerical and receptionist duties in support of the Human Resources operations and staff.
PAY GRADE: Classified Salary Schedule N231- Grade 7 - Salary Range: $33,932.00 to $54,635.00. Salary placement will be based on Douglas County Board of Education approved salary schedules and years of verified experience.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 231 Days (12 Months)
REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
EDUCATION LEVEL: Minimum of a high school diploma. Three years related training and experience. School system experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: None.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; jobs are sedentary if working and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PROFICIENT SKILLS:
- Interpersonal, written and oral communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Knowledge of MUNIS preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when dealing with sensitive personnel information and issues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Serves as the Human Resources receptionist, responding to telephone and walk-in inquiries.
- Opens and distributes mail for the Human Resource Department.
- Processes application packets submitted in response to advertised vacancies.
- Maintains a database and files for certified and classified applicants.
- Performs initial screening of certified applications and enters data on incoming applications for certified positions.
- Monitors and responds to incoming email from TeachGeorgia applicants.
- Responds to questions about the certification process and certification rules.
- Assists with maintaining personnel files and records in compliance with the Records Retention Act.
- Assists with preparation of materials for recruiting trips.
- Handles the processing forms and collection of fees required for fingerprints and substitute applicants.
- Processes Georgia New Hire reporting for the district.
- Enter Certification for certification renewals into Munis certification screens.
- Complete all Georgia New Hire Reporting after first day of contract year for 10 month employees.
- Conducts performance based tests tor all top clerical applicants.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrators.
