Human Resources / Payroll Clerk
Location: El Cajon, San Diego, CA
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources / Payroll Clerk to join our client's team in El Cajon. This position will support both Human Resources and Payroll functions while ensuring accurate employee records, payroll processing, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be organized, confidential, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time.
Maintain employee records and personnel files.
Assist with onboarding, new hire paperwork, and employee orientations.
Process employee status changes, terminations, and benefits updates.
Review timecards, attendance records, and payroll deductions for accuracy.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
Assist with benefits administration and open enrollment activities.
Prepare payroll and HR reports as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations.
Support HR projects and administrative functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1+ years of payroll and human resources experience
Experience processing payroll and maintaining employee records
Knowledge of labor laws, payroll regulations, and HR best practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/payroll systems
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality
Excellent communication and customer service skills

Located in El Cajon, San Diego, CA
Compensation: $23.00-$27.00 per hour DOE
Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm PST
