Overview:
Human Resource Specialists (MOS 42A) perform personnel and administrative functions supporting all military members. They ensure the readiness, health, and welfare of soldiers.

Qualifications and Training:
  • Minimum ASVAB scores: 100 GT and 90 CL.
  • Must qualify for Secret security clearance.
  • Complete 10 weeks Basic Combat Training and 9 weeks Advanced Individual Training with classroom and hands-on instruction.
  • Opportunities for advanced training depending on assignment.

Helpful Skills:
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • English and business administration aptitude.

Requirements:
  • U.S. citizen or I-551 cardholder.
  • Age 17-34.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass background check, drug screen, and have no felony convictions.
  • Good health with no physical limitations.

Compensation:
  •  Includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.

Bonuses:
  •  Up to $40,000 enlistment bonuses for select Military Occupational Specialties.

The Army, as one of the three military departments (Army, Navy and Air Force) reporting to the Department of Defense, is composed of two distinct and equally important components: the active component and the reserve components. The reserve components are the United States Army Reserve and the Army National Guard.
