Summary / General Purpose:

The Human Resources (HR) Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits and leave administration, performance management and training administration, coaching leaders on employment law, supporting accounting dept. payroll administration, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for HR department staffing, training, development, and performance management.

• Oversee HR department daily workflow, customer service, and annual programs and activities.

• Partner with leadership to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

• Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.

• Provide support and guidance to HR staff, leadership, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.

• Administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

• Analyze trends in compensation and benefits, research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to attract and retain top talent.

• Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

• Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

• Responsible for HR reporting including EEO-1 and OSHA.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and best practices. Regularly review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Build positive organizational culture and maintain a confidential, respectful work environment.

• Stay current on employment law, trends, regulatory changes, talent management strategies, and new technologies in the field of Human Resources.

• Serve as back-up for bi-weekly payroll processing.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance during operating hours to perform the duties of the position, including other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Extended periods of sitting, typing and computer work, regular standing and walking, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds in an office environment.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Eighteen (18) years of age or older.

• Associates degree or a combination of education and experience.

• Five (5) years of progressive HR coordination and management including knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

• Time management, prioritization, organizational and delegation skills to consistently meet deadlines.

• Demonstrated ability to employ analytical and problem-solving skills to work through challenging situations.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse set of staff, customers, vendors, and general public, utilizing effective interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, always acting with integrity and professionalism.

• Demonstrated ability to speak, read, and write professionally, as well as compile, analyze and present information in English.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs, HRIS systems and general office equipment.

• Valid Utah driver license or ability to obtain within 2-weeks of date of hire.

• Ability to pass drug screening, fingerprint and criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar HR certification.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.

• Seven (7) years of job-related experience.

• Proficiency in a second language such as Spanish.
