Position Overview

Ashley Furniture is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to support our HR team with requisition management, employee engagement initiatives, and general HR operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources.

Key Responsibilities

Requisition Management

  • Create and process employee requisitions in our applicant tracking system
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to gather job requirements and specifications
  • Maintain accurate requisition tracking and documentation
  • Assist with job posting distribution across various platforms

Employee Engagement & Events

  • Support planning and coordination of the annual Ashley Picnic
  • Assist with event logistics, vendor coordination, and employee communications
  • Help organize employee engagement activities and recognition programs
  • Support internal communications related to company events

UKG System Support

  • Provide administrative support for UKG (workforce management system) processes
  • Assist employees with basic UKG inquiries and troubleshooting
  • Help maintain employee data accuracy within the UKG platform
  • Support time and attendance tracking processes

General HR Support

  • Assist with employee onboarding and orientation processes
  • Maintain HR files and ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Support benefits administration and employee inquiries
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented with ability to handle confidential information
  • Team player with positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Previous internship or work experience in HR is a plus
