Human Resources Generalist
Department: Human Resources Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Summary: TheHumanResourcesGeneralist works in concert with others in the department to performa variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the Human Resources department,includingbutnotlimitedtorecruiting,employee life cycle activities,employeerelations,compensation,andclassification,employeetraining,andpolicy implementation.This position involves the processing of a large volume of confidential information requiring attention to detail and discretion.Thefunctionsforthispositionrequireathoroughknowledgeoftheterminology,procedures,andpracticesforHumanResourceswithasignificantdegreeofindependenceandaccountabilityforresults.

Physical demands and working environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to operate equipment, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, see, and talk or hear. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing and data entry. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
While mostly performed in a standard office environment, this job occasionally requires exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Hours and days may vary to include night or weekend work.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: · Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university or college. · 3 years of Human Resources Generalist experience. · A different combination of education and experience deemed equivalent by the department head may be substituted for that stated. · Municipal Human Resources experience is desired.
