Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist provides HR process, administrative, and project support to the assigned site and/or business unit. Performs various human resources duties in areas such as employee engagement, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and employee relations, while supporting recruitment and HR administration.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR partner for manufacturing operations, supporting hourly and salaried employees across multiple shifts.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture; respond to workplace concerns and escalate high-risk issues appropriately.
- Advise leaders and employees on HR policies, employee relations, performance management, corrective actions, and investigations.
- Responsible for the administration of HR functions, including reporting, compliance initiatives, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and employee relations.
- Support the HR team, including HR Business Partner and Talent Acquisition Partner.
- Assist in recruiting efforts and the facilitation of New Employee Orientation as needed.
- Participate in HR projects as required.
- Field routine questions and requests from employees.
- Assist in data and other reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and administer termination process.
- Support engagement initiatives, culture-building activities, and site events.
- Support audits (internal, external, or regulatory), including documentation and responses to requests.
- Assist with training coordination or facilitation (e.g., scheduling, logistics, tracking completion), as needed.
- Perform job-specific tasks in compliance with applicable regulations, international standards, and WuXi AppTec policies and SOPs.
- Able to work independently under minimal supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- May be required to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, as business needs require.
- Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements
Education / Experience
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Minimum 3 years in HR is required.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- PHR certification preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to personnel administration and various compensation and benefit plans and practices.
- Knowledge of HR processes and HR compliance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other applicable software.
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction.
- Familiarity with and adherence to regulatory guidelines consistent with WuXi requirements.
- Experience working with HRIS is desired but not required.
- Ability to handle details with speed and accuracy is highly desired.
